Dr. Caldwell was born in Maryland, but has spent most of his life in Texas. He has been in the Austin area for over thirty years. He is married with five children of varying ages.
Dr. Caldwell received both his bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. He then served a two-year duty in the Army during the Vietnam crisis. After fulfilling his Army duty, he attended medical school and graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. During medical school, he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Caldwell then served a three-year pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital through the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Upon completion of his professional training, he entered active pediatric practice in Austin.
Dr. Caldwell is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Texas Medical Association, the Travis County Medical Society, and the Texas Pediatric Society.
